Replace Missing Teeth with Dental Implants – Manhattan and White Plains & Westchester County

Are you missing a tooth or several teeth?  If so, consider dental implants – the most advanced tooth-replacement option available. IllustraDENT is pleased to provide dental implants at our offices in Manhattan and White Plains & Westchester County.  Unlike tooth-supported restorations, which merely rest on top of the gums, dental implants replace the tooth’s natural root and anchor crowns, bridges, and dentures directly to the jawbone.  The resulting restoration does not slip or slide, and it looks and feels indistinguishable from natural teeth.  Dental implants can give you the fully functional, attractive smile you deserve.

Surgical Placement

Dental Implant Options

Surgical Placement

Our in-office specialists place dental implants at our Manhattan and White Plains & Westchester County offices.  This distinguishes us from other dentists in the area who must refer patients to outside specialists for the surgical placement of the implant posts.  is equipped with state-of-the-art technology that makes the process as comfortable and stress-free as possible.

The placement of dental implants usually takes two visits:  one to place the implant post, and one to attach the restoration.  During the first visit, the dental specialist begins by administering a local anesthetic, which keeps the patient completely comfortable throughout the surgery.  When the mouth is fully numb, the dentist makes a small incision in the gums.  Next, he or she carefully inserts the implant into the jawbone.  Finally, the gums are sutured closed.  He or she may also place a temporary restoration that the patient will wear until the permanent version is ready. The implant site is allowed to heal for several months, during which time the implant integrates with the bone.

When the gums and jawbone have healed, the patient returns for the second visit.  The dentist begins this visit by administering a local anesthetic.  He or she then uncovers the top of the implant and affixes it to the crown, bridge, or denture.  The resulting restoration remains securely in place and can last a lifetime with proper maintenance.

Dental Implants Restoration and Maintenance

also provides services for patients who have already had dental implants placed.  We can provide restorations to cover the implant or help maintain the implant site.  If you need one of these dental implants services, contact our offices in the Manhattan / NYC or White Plains & Westchester County areas to schedule a consultation.

Dental Implant Options

If you decide to have dental implants placed, you have several choices as to the type of artificial tooth that will complete the restoration.  When you schedule your dental implants consultation with our dentists in Manhattan, White Plains & Westchester County, or Miami and South Miami, Florida, we will help you choose which option – a crown, bridge, or overdenture – that will work best for you.

Implant Crown

One option for covering a dental implant is implant-supported porcelain crowns.  Since implant-supported crowns are stabilized by the implant, they are remarkably comfortable and much more durable than tooth-supported crowns. IllustraDENT provides beautiful, custom-crafted porcelain crowns that blend beautifully with surrounding natural teeth.

Implant Bridge

When there are several teeth missing in a row, an implant-supported dental bridge may be the best option.  Unlike tooth-supported bridges, implant bridges are not attached to the teeth surrounding the gap, leaving them unaffected. IllustraDENT provides attractive porcelain bridges that are custom-crafted to match your smile.

Implant Overdenture

When a patient needs to have all the teeth replaced, we can provide attractive overdentures.  Modern dentures are amazingly realistic looking, and they fit very comfortably when anchored to the jawbone with implants.  Implant-supported dentures prevent the gum and bone deterioration that is common with traditional dentures, and they allow patients to laugh, speak, and eat with confidence.
